2010 Caregiver Survey Results
The Vice President of Community Care Services conducts an annual anonymous caregiver survey to evaluate the quality and impact of services provided in the Specialized Alzheimer’s Day Service Centers. Surveys were mailed to 317 families, and 116 (37%) were returned. According to statisticians, a 10% return is considered good, thus we feel our rate of return was excellent.
Caregiver Responses
- 99% reported that the care their loved one receives at the Specialized Alzheimer’s Day Service Centers is good to excellent.
- 99% reported that the staff is easy to communicate with.
- 93% reported that they were satisfied with the Specialized Alzheimer’s Day Service Center hours offered.
- 92% reported that their loved one’s quality of life has improved by attending the Specialized Alzheimer’s Day Service Center.
- 97% reported that their (the caregiver’s) quality of life has improved since their loved one began attending the Specialized Alzheimer’s Day Service Center.
- 98% of caregiver’s surveyed rated the activities program offered at their Specialized Alzheimer’s Day Service Center as good to excellent.
- 71% reported that they have attended a special event held at their Specialized Alzheimer’s Day Service Center.
- 100% of caregivers surveyed who have attended a special event at their Specialized Alzheimer’s Day Service Center rated the event as excellent.
- 80% of caregivers surveyed felt that their loved ones attended the Speciazlied Alzheimer's Day Service Centers enough days.
Family Nurse Consultant Survey
- 94% of caregivers surveyed felt that during the initial visit with the Family Nurse Consultant, the explanation of our services was very good to excellent.
- 98% of caregivers surveyed felt that the professionalism demonstrated by the Family Nurse Consultant has been very good to excellent.
- 96% felt that the frequency at which they were contacted by the Family Nurse Consultant was good to excellent. 94% felt that the amount of time to receive a response was good to excellent.
- 98% felt that the information about caring for a loved one with Alzheimer's disease or a dementia disorder was good to excellent.
- 87% felt that the guidance and support received from the Family Nurse Consultant has improved the ability to care for a loved one.
- 68% felt that since the intial contact with the Family Nurse Consultant, stress levels have decreased.
- 97% rate their experiences with the Family Nurse Consultant as good to excellent.
