The Alzheimer's Conversation
When a loved one shows signs of memory problems, or has received a diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease or a
related dementia disorder, it can be a difficult topic for friends and family members to discuss. Many times, caregivers will experience feelings of anger, denial, depression and guilt--and sometimes, the patient will have similar feelings.
It is important to remember that if you or your loved one is experiencing memory loss or behavior related to dementia, you are not alone. There are over 60,000 people living with Alzheimer's disease in South Florida, and a new diagnosis is made every 70 seconds. With these numbers growing, it's vital that caregivers, friends, and family members educate themselves on the disease.
This is why Alzheimer's Community Care has developed "The Alzheimer's Conversation." In a warm, non-threatening environment, we provide a 90-minute discussion on the following topics:
This educational program is provided free of charge to your country club, social group, community club, networking organization or other group. "The Alzheimer's Conversation" has been successful in bringing friends and neighbors together to discuss the disease, share concerns, and provide an open forum for questions and answers with experts from Alzheimer's Community Care.
