This course explores prediabetes and diabetes and their connection to vascular dementia and risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease. Course content explains the differences between type 1 and type 2 diabetes and discusses the risks of the prediabetic state as well as preventive strategies. Modifiable and unmodifiable risk factors are examined. Ways by which individuals can evaluate their risk for type 2 diabetes are explained in detail.
