Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders Level I Training

8:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

This course is approved by the Florida Department of Elder Affairs and meets the education requirements for administrators and staff working with dementia patients in the home, at assisted living facilities, in long-term care facilities, and in skilled nursing facilities.

  • The disease process that leads to the development of Alzheimer’s disease (AD)
  • Symptoms typical of AD and related neurocognitive disorders
  • How neurocognitive disorders are diagnosed
  • Treatable causes for the symptom of dementia
  • The impact of AD on patients and family caregivers
  • Validation as the preferred means of communicating with a patient with AD or a related disorder
  • Theories/approaches for reducing one’s risk of developing AD
  • Various ethical considerations relating to the care of patients

A: You may register online here or by calling us at (561) 683-2700. We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and checks. All registrations must be pre-paid; we cannot accept payment at the time of training.

A: The cost for an individual to attend is $50.00.

Q: Where is the training held?
A: The training is held at Alzheimer’s Community Care, 800 Northpoint Parkway, West Palm Beach, Florida, 33407. We will meet in the second-floor conference room, accessible by elevator.

Q: Is lunch provided?
A: Lunch is not provided. There are several restaurants nearby.

Q: What is the attire?
A: Please dress comfortably. The room will be cool; you may want to bring a sweater.

Q: What documentation do I need to show when I arrive?
A: You will need to bring a photo I.D., a receipt of your payment, and an original copy of your occupational license.

Q: When should I arrive?
A: Please plan to arrive 15 minutes prior to the training.
